The countdown for the 2021 season of the Indian Premier League is on and in just a couple of days it’s time to begin the annual player auction. The auction will be held in Chennai on the 18th of February and you’ll find all the information on how the event will proceed here on Tvsports.in. 292 players will be up for grab as the teams now enter the final preparations ahead of another exciting and anticipated season of the Indian Premier League.

The IPL Player Auction 2021 will take place on February 18th in Chennai and the event will as always be well covered by media and fans as the teams are looking to strengthen their squads ahead of the upcoming season. The player auction will consist of 292 players who’re up for grab for any of the eight teams.

A total of 61 spots are available across this season's eight competing franchises. As the squads are only allowed to include 25 players the teams will have a different number of slots available. The Sunrisers Hyderabad will only have three spots available while the Royal Challengers Bangalore will be able to bring in 11 new names. There will be 164 Indian players, 125 overseas players and three players from Associate Nations in this year’s auction.

The Indian Premier League 2021 season is scheduled to begin in April and run until May. There are no doubts that the Mumbai Indian will be the team to beat this year as they’ve managed to bring home the champions trophy in the previous two seasons. The teams will play each other twice before the Playoffs begins.
