The biggest sporting tournament of 2024, the Summer Olympics, will run from July 26 to August 11 with the capital of France, Paris, as the host city. A total of 7 stadiums have been selected for the Summer Games and with a seating capacity of 77,000, Stade de France is the biggest of all the venues. After holding a referendum in 2016, Hamburg became the first city to withdraw its name from the Summer Olympics 2024 bid. Due to financial issues, Rome also withdrew from the bidding process. After withdrawing two cities from the Summer Olympics 2024, Budapest also pulled its name from the bidding process due to a petition signed by the people of Hungary.
In the end, Paris and Los Angeles were the only two cities left in the selection process after the three other cities pulled out. On 9th June 2017, the IOC Executive Board met in Lausanne, Switzerland, and concluded that Paris and Los Angeles will be hosting the Summer Olympics 2024 and 2028 respectively.
