Men’s Singles Preview

Novak Djokovic has been outstanding this season and the tennis he has shown us this year is nothing but exceptional. The 34-year-old has been featuring in almost every event and tournament possible this season and with much success. He is big favorite to win the 2021 US Open, which becomes obvious by looking at the current odds 1.72 at BetMGM.

However, Djokovic has shown signs of fatigue recently as he only reached the semifinal at the Tokyo Olympics and later had to pull out from the Western & Southern Open due to a minor injury. If this is a sign of what to come or if it’s just a slight dip in form is left to be seen but one thing is clear, Djokovic will do everything he can to win his fourth Grand Slam of the year.

For anyone looking for another outright Alexander Zverev might be the go-to guy. The German pays around 7.00 at BetMGM and could be an interesting shot. Zverev has had an impressive year where he has won the Madrid Open, the Tokyo Olympics and the Western & Southern Open. He defeated Djokovic at the Tokyo Olympics on his way to the final and will be confident doing the same just a couple of weeks later at the US Open.

Women’s Singles Preview

Naomi Osaka, 23 years old, defeated Victoria Azarenka in last year’s final when she won her second US Open trophy. The Japanese will come to this year’s tournament as favorite along with Ashleigh Barty who has never reached further than the fourth round at the US Open. Naomi Osaka came under a lot of pressure during the Tokyo Olympics where she was one of the gold medals hopes among the Japanese fans. A disappointing performance in the third round had Osaka leaving the tournament after two straight set losses. The US Open will be a big test for Naomi Osaka who must forget about the weak performance in Tokyo and find back to her aggressive and energic way of playing if she is to defend her Grand Slam trophy from last year.
