IPL Season Resumption - Opening Round Preview
The countdown has begun and in just a couple of days will the Indian Premier League be back. The resumption of the 2021 season will be held in the United Arab Emirates and with half the campaign left to play the fight for the Playoff spots is wide open. A season like no other
The 2021 season will without doubt be remembered as one of the most dramatic IPL seasons in the history. From its start back in April, to the postponement only a couple of weeks later, and now finally the resumption where 31 games will be played during a month’s period of time in the United Arab Emirates.
The teams are ready to restart the season and they do it with somewhat new roosters. A number of players have decided to pull out of the league campaign and the affected teams have had to work fast and hard to get new players in place for the opening round.

19 Sep (19:30 IST) Chennai Super Kings v Mumbai Indians
20 Sep (19:30 IST) Kolkata Knight Riders v Royal Challengers Bangalore
21 Sep (19:30 IST) Punjab Kings v Rajasthan Royals
22 Sep (19:30 IST) Delhi Capitals v Sunrisers Hyderabad
The league standing as it is ahead the restart has Delhi Capitals in top of the table with 12 points. The Capitals have continued on their strong run from last season, which led them to a narrow defeat in the IPL Final. Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore stand on 10 points, followed by the current champions Mumbai Indians on 8 points.
Interesting here is that Chennai Super Kings are held as favourites to win the IPL this season by Betway, odds at 3.50 prior to the league restart. Both Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals have to see themselves as underdogs here, currently paying 3.75. Royal Challengers Bangalore, another strong title contender who's still searching for the form can currently be backed to 5.00.
