India tour of England │ ICC World Test Championship
India vs England will kick off the second edition of the ICC World Test Championship on August 4th. India hopes to bounce back from the disappointing final loss against New Zeeland in June, while team England aims for a better result than their 4th place from last season. Team India is scheduled to play a total of 19 matches, 9 home and 10 away. They will not face Pakistan or the West Indies. The India tour of England and the series between Australia and England will be the only series where 5 matches are played.
Point system and league table
New for this season is that each game will have 12 available points, regardless of how many matches there are in a series. A win is worth 12 points, tie 6 points, draw 4 points and loss 0 points. Just like in the previous season the teams will be ranked based on their percentage of points won out of total points contested.

These are two of the most classic and traditional cricket nations and matches between the two sides always tend be something special. England will be going into the series as small favorites thanks to the home advantage. India has suffered a couple of injuries as they prepare for the upcoming series. All-rounder Washington Sundar, fast bowler Avesh Khan and opening batsman Shubman Gill have all been ruled out of the England tour.
