English Premier League 2021/21

Another season of the English Premier League is just around the corner and the teams are now working on transfers and preparing the players for another intense campaign. Manchester City lifted the trophy last season after an impressive run where they sealed the champions title with three matches left to play. Will any of Manchester United, Chelsea or Liverpool manages to reclaim the league title or will Manchester City make it two in a row as they did in 18/19? In this article we give you the latest updates on the Premier League team’s new signings and departures as well as some predictions on how the season will end.

Top 10 biggest signings

Jadon Sancho, Borussia Dortmund -> Manchester United (€100m)
Raphaël Varane, Real Madrid -> Manchester United (€70m)
Ibrahima Konate, RB Leipzig -> Liverpool (€35m)
Emiliano Buendía, Norwich -> Aston Villa (€35m)
Patson Daka, RB Salzburg -> Leicester (€22m)
Bryan Gil, Sevilla -> Tottenham (€30m)
Marc Guehi, Chelsea -> Crystal Palace (€10m)
Enock Mwepu, RB Salzburg (€13m)
Boubakary Soumaré, Lille -> Leicester (€28m)
Albert Sambi Lokonga, Anderlecht -> Arsenal (€12m)

Manchester United has been the most active team during the summer transfer window with both Jadon Sancho and Rafaël Varane on the arrival list. The second place from last season was enough to give manager Ole-Gunnar Solskjaer a new contract and with two major signings coming in the expectations will be higher than ever on the Norwegian.

Apart from Manchester United’s transfers there hasn’t been as much activity during the transfer window as we’re used to from previous seasons. Liverpool has got themselves a strong center back in Ibrahima Konate who will add further strength to Jürgen Klopp’s defensive line where Virgil van Dijk will make a welcome return.

We can still expect a few big signings being signed before the transfer window closes. The 2020/21 season was followed up by the European Championship and the Summer Olympics, why most of the clubs are waiting to make their business until the tournaments are over. Manchester City and Chelsea have both been linked with some of the most wanted strikers in European football. One player who’s believed to join the current champions is Harry Kane from Tottenham. The English striker has a terrific goal scoring record in the Premier League and would surely be a massive signing and addition to an already strong side.

2021/22 Premier League Season

Manchester City are clear favorites to win the 2021/22 Premier League season according to the bookmakers. With odds below 2.00 they are expected to continue their excellence from last season. Should they manage to add any of Kane or Grealish to the squad it’s hard to argue with the predictions as Manchester City already has a depth to its team that's hardly comparable to any other team in the Premier League.

Manchester United, the big spender in the summer transfer window, have gone all in on challenging Manchester City for the league title this season. With several impressive signings, the expectations are high on Manchester United who won’t have room for any more disappointing seasons.

Chelsea managed to reach the 4th place after Thomas Tuchels arrival last season. The German lead Chelsea to a surprising Champions League final where they defeated Manchester City. Now he has got his first preseason with the players, and it will be interesting to see what Tuchel can achieve with a young and talented squad. Chelsea will be a team consider this season as several of the players who arrived prior to last season have had a full campaign to settle in and get used to Premier League.

After a season full of injuries on key players Liverpool will hope to reclaim the Premier League trophy in the 2021/22 season. The return of Van Dijk, Gomez, Matip and Henderson is vital for The Reds who have a lot to prove this season. The only major signing during the summer transfer window is Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig, a strong physical center back who will give Klopp further alternatives in the defense.
