Upcoming sports events

Indian Premier League – With only a few games left of the regular season the Mumbai Indians top the table and have already booked their spot in the first qualifier game. Behind the Indians it’s a close call between the Royal Challengers Bangalore, Delhi Capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Remaining games
Monday 2nd November – Delhi Capitals vs Royal Challengers Bangalore
Tuesday 3rd November – Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Mumbai Indians

Everything is going to be decided on Tuesday when the last game of the regular season is played. The Sunrisers Hyderabad are currently on 5th place, and so they will have to win their game against the exceptional Mumbai Indians. The first placed team will face the second placed team in Qualifier 1, where the winner proceeds to the final. The losing team will get another chance to reach the final in the Qualifier 2 where the winner of the 3rd and 4th placed team awaits.

The Mumbai Indians are favourites to win the Indian Premier League this season if you’re to believe the bookmakers. If the Mumbai Indians manage to win the title this season it will be the fourth time ever, strengthen their position as the most successful IPL team. It will be the first time ever that they win two consecutive league titles.

UEFA Champions League – The world’s best club football tournament, UEFA Champions League, will be played throughout November and December before its time for a short winter break. The group stage is underway, and we’ve already been witnessing some amazing games and surprising results. In Group A, Bayern Munich, have shown that last season’s performance was not a one-time thing. By beating Atletico Madrid with 4-0 they have clinched the top position in the group, and it will take a lot for them to lose it. Real Madrid have started the group stage shaky. One draw and one lose puts them last in Group B, and in a tough situation to get past the group stage. Group G with both Barcelona and Juventus has been an interesting one where the Spanish giants are in the top of the table. The 2-0 win over Juventus puts Barcelona in a good position, but with the two teams facing each other next week again a lot of things can still happen.
