Indian Premier League 2021 – Season structure

The season will begin on April 9th with an interesting encounter between the defending champions, Mumbai Indians, and RC Bangalore.
There will be no changes in regard to the number of teams in the league, which means there are eight contestants battling for the IPL trophy. The season consists of a total of 60 games, 56 games during the regular season and four Playoff games.
The teams that are finishing on fourth- and third place will qualify for the Eliminator while the two best teams after the regular season is played will advance to Qualifier 1. The winner of the Eliminator will then proceed to the Qualifier 2 where the losing team from the Qualifier 1 awaits. The final will be played on May 30th in Ahmedabad.
