Tournament Format & Important Dates

The 9th edition of the ICC T20 World Cup will have a new format as the number of participating teams is increasing from 16 (2021 & 2022) to 20 this year. There will be 4 groups of 5 teams each in the group stage with two teams from each group qualifying for the Super 8s. From two groups in the Super 8s stage, the top two teams from each will play in the semi-finals and the winners of those two games will play in the final

The tournament will start as the host nation, the United States, takes on Canada on the 2nd of June 2024. Among the most notable fixtures, India will play Pakistan on the 9th June. The Group Stage will have 4 groups of 5 teams and will run till 18th June. From 19th June to 25th June, the Super 8 stage of the competition will be played. Both the Semi-Finals will be played on 27th June. And, the final will be on the 29th of June.
